Q: If we sat on the beach and drank wine and ate great food just you and I, what would you tell me about yourself and your life?

A: If we were sitting on the beach, sharing wine and great food, I’d tell you "Girl where is the SPF50 pass it ova!". I would say: I hold no regrets. I’ve had the privilege of loving—and being loved by—three incredible men. That’s not something I take lightly. I see so many people out there hurting each other because they’ve never known love. They don’t know how to give what they’ve never received.
And when that pain tries to aim itself at me, I stand tall. Fierce. Poised. I look it dead in the eye—because I know who I am. I have a job. I have an education. And I have someone waiting for me at home, goddammit.
I’ve earned my peace. I’ve fought for my joy. And I’ll never apologize for the strength it took to get here.

Q: Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like others to absolutely know about you?

A: That I am born and raised in the 'hood'; South Central Los Angeles to be exact. If there’s one thing I’d want people to know about me, it’s that I don’t do anything halfway. I’d rather stumble giving 110 percent than coast at fifty. I like taking risks, pushing limits, and turning ideas into something real—messy or not. I care about showing up fully, being honest, and leaving people with something that actually sticks, not just surface-level fluff.

Q: What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?

A: I live for the thrill of the hunt. My background is in design, so I’ve always been drawn to the details—how something is built, how it holds up, what story it tells without saying a word. I’ve been collecting vintage long before sustainability became fashionable—not for the trend, but for the soul.
One of my favorite hobbies is combing through flea markets or estate sales, chasing that quiet spark of discovery. I’m not afraid to dig—under tables, behind boxes, past the obvious—because I know that what’s overlooked is often where the real magic lives. Value doesn’t always shout. Sometimes it waits to be seen by the right eyes.
And really, isn’t that true for people too? You miss a lot when you only pay attention to the cover. It’s the pieces that aren’t immediately flashy or obvious that can hold the richest stories.

Q: How do you go the 'Extra Mile' in your life?

A: I go the extra mile by leading with kindness and staying true to myself. I don’t concern myself with what others think or what they’re doing—because someone’s opinion of me is none of my business. What matters is how I show up. It takes far more energy to be cruel than it does to be kind, and I choose kindness every time. Yes, it’s nice to feel important—but it’s far more important to be nice.

Q: Tell us about the best experience you have had in life.

A: Traveling through Europe in my twenties I got to visit Germany, Italy and Switzerland were some of the highlights.

Q: How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?

A: I try to travel at least two or three times a year—even if it’s just a staycation at a ridiculously fancy hotel near my house. There’s something magical about breaking routine and surprising yourself with how much joy you can find close to home. Regional trips are just as fulfilling—Palm Springs, San Diego, San Francisco. California is a playground of contrasts: skiing in Big Bear, surfing in Malibu, discovering a new art installation in San Francisco, or slurping clam chowder at Fisherman’s Wharf.
I love to explore, but I also love the comfort of home. I guess you could say I’m a homebody with a wandering eye—always looking for beauty, even if it’s just down the street.

Q: What would you say are your greatest attributes?

A: I believe tenderness is radical. Sensitivity is not a flaw—it’s a form of strength. My greatest attribute is my bravery, not in loud gestures, but in quiet admissions: asking for help, accepting it, and allowing myself to feel fully. I’ve learned that emotional release is a tool, not a breakdown. My work is rooted in that truth—an exploration of vulnerability as power, and softness as survival. Through my art, I invite others to see that healing isn’t linear, and strength often looks like surrender.

Q: What are your lifestyle specifics that makes who you are?

A: My Catholic Mexican-American sensibility always seems to rear its ugly head—especially after a few days of debauchery. I’ll sneak out or sneak in, chasing pleasure, and then suddenly find myself tangled in guilt. It’s the Catholicism, creeping in like clockwork. Male or female, we self-flagellate in silence, haunted by a morality we didn’t choose but somehow still carry.
I’m an atheist now, but those early memories—being a young wild and free, wide eyed church kid—are stitched into my psyche. I hate the version of myself that still flinches at joy, but I also cherish the nostalgia. It shows up in my dress, affect, sound and vision in the way I remember happiness.
Toxic masculinity and the machismo of my heritage shaped me more than I’d like to admit. It’s unconscious, but it’s there—in how I move, how I love, how I protect myself. That tension between rebellion and reverence? It’s the engine behind everything I create.
My work is a reclamation—a remix of inherited codes, cultural contradictions, and emotional residue. I wear my past like an accessory: not to hide behind, but to reframe the narrative.

Q: What would you like your readers to know about you that is unique and even a bit personal?

A: In July of 2025, my world shifted. I lost the man I was going to marry—the love of my life, my kindred spirit. We were planning to elope in Las Vegas that weekend. He went missing the day before. Two years together, and in an instant, everything changed. In the rhythm of my days, in the way I move throughout, when its still and there isn't any noise I can still feel him . That loss didn’t just break my heart—it rewired my soul.
It’s shaped how I create, how I dress, how I speak. I lean into beauty with urgency now. I chase joy like it’s a limited edition. My style is a love letter to what remains, and my voice is stitched with memory. I want readers to know that behind every bold choice is a story—and mine is one of love, loss, and the art of becoming.

Q: What kind of diet and fitness regimen do you follow?

A: “THANKS FOR ASKING! HI, I’M ALBERTO—and ever since I started The Downtown Diet™, I’ve never looked or felt better. What’s the secret? Cigarettes for cardio, vodka for clarity, and a beet-pear-walnut salad for dinner because I’m classy like that. For my anti-pasto? A bottle of champagne. And if I’m feeling frisky, a few drunken donut holes before bed—washed down with a nightcap of your choice (mine’s tequila, but you do you boo). I lost 50 pounds and gained a whole new personality. Just look at me now. WOW.”

Q: What do you enjoy most about yourself?

A: I live for my taste—it's curated, chaotic, and unapologetically mine. From saddle leather to gym sweat, from psychoanalysis to social seduction, I move through every space with intention and heat. If you spot me mid-stride, offer some encouragement—or something more intoxicating. I crave connection with those who know style isn’t just worn—it’s lived. I enjoy being a provocateur with polish, a hot mess with a master's eye. I fall for those who wear desire like couture: tailored, intentional, and a little dangerous. My good taste isn’t just about aesthetic—it’s emotional architecture. And I’m here for the ones who build with fire & desire.

Q: What distinguishes you from all the other people you know?

A: I’ve never had the patience for blending in. While other kids in my neighborhood were chasing the gang life, I was marching around with a sousaphone the size of a small car, flipping with the cheer squad as one of the first guys in district history, acting my heart out in Drama Club, and still walking away with Homecoming Prince. My first paycheck came from slinging denim at the G.A.P. in The Beverly Center. I’ve always chosen the left turn when everyone else went mundane right—and honestly, that’s where the good stuff is. Defiantly different isn’t just what I do, it’s who I am.

Q: What is your specialty?

A: My favorite dish to cook is a summertime yellow squash soup made with fresh ingredients.

Q: What should others absolutely know about you?

A: I am named after my father , which is why some people know me as JR (and NO not J.R. Ewing). I have dual citizenship from the country that my father is from too. So I'm passport ready! I am recently back on the market after tragically losing my fiancé this past year; so you can most definitely say that I am single single & ready to mingle! WOOF

Q: What do you do for fun?

A: Shopping so if your love language is gifting give me a call big daddy ; ) I love vintage jewelry like Cartier from the 1960's, Archival DIOR or YSL, Dries Von Noten, Marni, and Margiela. But fun for me is laying out on the beach listening to the waves crashing ashore with a bottle of Asti and a glass cup of ice , green g***s & strawberries and a good book.

Q: What are 5 things you can’t live without?

A: Parliament Lights (shorts), Chanel Platinum Egoiste Deodorant, Ice Cubes (Did you know what?! : Its is a sign of sexual frustration when someone eats ice), Kennedy & Tobias (my two pet dogs), and Trader Jose's Raspberry Lemon & Strawberry Fruit Bars (its real fruit pureee serve a la popsicle = DIVINE)
