A: I worked while in high school & bought my first car. After that I saved for a graduation present to myself to backpack across Iberia for three months prior to starting college. I was 18 & by myself (would've been better with company), however that was the time of my life. I don't like tourist groups; I walk around & appreciate their people & their way of life. I value authenticity.
While my job doesn't pay much & works me to the bone, I have great benefits & I find what I do quite rewarding as it has a direct (hopefully) positive role in improving the quality of life for children.

My college experience: Frat president, majored in Portuguese & lusophone studies & civil engineering (I'm dead serious), while working 40+ hrs a week.
